Fortem sunflower hybrid – seed material for Clearfield technology belongs to the early ripening group.

The parental lines are from the Serbian Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops ČS Seme (Novie Sad).

The Fortem crop has a potential yield of 50 centners per hectare, with a seed oil content of 49-51%. The hybrid is resistant to six races of the parasitic plant sunflower water lily and downy mildew.

Advantages of the Fortem sunflower hybrid:

  • Ability to control all weeds in a field using the Clearfield system
  • IMI hybrid with a short growing season

Fortem hybrid seeds can be grown using the Euro-Lightning (Clearfield) technology. The crop tolerates herbicide treatments containing both mazamox and imazethapyr. Control of all weed groups with the Euro-Lightning herbicide allows sunflowers to thrive and reduces weed competition.
