Evrosem Standard:

– The company developed and approved its own quality standard, which incorporated the best world experience.

– We impose stricter quality requirements for seeds than state standards (germination, vigor, purity).

– We regulate indicators not regulated by DSTU (State Standard of Ukraine) (fractional uniformity, staining quality).

Varietal purity

Varietal purity control in hybridization fields by representatives of the originator (NS SEME Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops).

Varietal purity control in the laboratory by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. Due to this control method, all seeds sold by Evrosem have a genetic purity level of 99.5%. For agricultural producers, this means synchronized crop maturation and full compliance of hybrids with their declared genetic resistance to abiotic factors.

Control of seed characteristics

– Thirty days after harvesting seed material, samples from each seed batch are collected and analyzed according to DSTU 4138-2002. The seeds are tested for germination energy, germinability, presence of pests, moisture, fungal infections, and fractional composition (for sunflower and corn hybrid seeds). Based on this analysis, a decision is made regarding the suitability of the seed batch, followed by calibration (fractional composition), seed treatment (selection of seed treatment chemicals), and packaging.

– After calibration, treatment, labeling, and packaging, three control samples are taken from each labeled batch. The first sample is taken by the seed certification body’s agronomist, with the sample weight conforming to DSTU requirements for certified crops. The second sample is taken by Evrosem’s agronomist. One sample is sent for analysis to an Independent Seed Ecology Laboratory, and the other is stored in the company’s office. The analysis is conducted according to DSTU 4138-2002. A complete analysis of the seed material is carried out for its compliance with DSTU 2240-93.

In practice, this means uniform and friendly seedlings, protection from early-stage disease pathogens, and consequently the ability to maximize the hybrid’s genetic expression potential.

Own modern
seed laboratory

– At all stages of production, we repeatedly control the key indicators of seed quality (germination, vigor, disease and pest infestation) according to our own quality control protocol.

– We test herbicide resistance in laboratory conditions.

– We check the data specified by the certification body and ensure compliance with the Evrosem Standard.

Herbicide resistance control

Every batch of “chemical” sunflower hybrids undergoes a laboratory (express) test for resistance.

For seed batches with a laboratory-determined resistance of less than 97%, an additional check is carried out in a greenhouse.

As a result, you can be 100% confident in the herbicide resistance of our Evrosem sunflower hybrids to non-selective herbicides of your chosen technology, allowing you to safely apply them at the necessary stage of crop vegetation without fear of causing harm.
