Central Ukraine has traditionally remained one of the country’s key agricultural regions; however, local farmers are increasingly facing severe climatic challenges — prolonged droughts and critically high temperatures. That is precisely why the large-scale ‘Agro Kirovohradshchyna’ Field Day became the main platform for finding effective solutions. Eurosem took an active part in the event, presenting its own range of seed to local farmers, capable of delivering stable yield figures even under extreme conditions.
Resilience and productivity: what Evrosem demonstrated in the Kirovohrad region
The main focus during the demonstrations was on the adaptability of Ukrainian breeding programmes to the region’s specific conditions. The company’s team of experts presented both well-known bestsellers and new developments.
Hybrids that can withstand drought
At the demonstration plots, event participants assessed the condition and potential of the crops:
- Evrosem sunflower: hybrids resistant to new broomrape races and adapted to Clearfield and Express technologies, which is particularly relevant for fields in the Kirovohrad region. They demonstrated a robust root system and high oil content.
- Evrosem maize: breeding solutions with excellent stress tolerance and a high rate of moisture release, enabling significant savings on costly grain drying.
Expert support and agrotechnological solutions
Evrosem’s specialists conducted dozens of one-to-one consultations with farmers. The main topic of discussion was the introduction of premium seed treatment technology, which includes a combination of fungicide and insecticide protection alongside growth stimulants. This ensures uniform emergence even when soil moisture is scarce.
The field day in the Kirovohrad region proved once again that the right choice of genetics is the foundation of agribusiness profitability. Thanks to their high adaptability, Evropean quality standards and affordable price, Eurosem seeds remain a reliable tool for Ukrainian farms to achieve stable profits.
