On 6 March 2026, Odessa became the focal point for discussions on the future of Ukraine’s agri-food sector. Our team of experts took part in the large-scale AgroShum conference, which brought together like-minded individuals ready to speak frankly about the state of the industry. The event, titled ‘AgroShum Odessa’, lived up to expectations 100%: instead of dry presentations, we heard about real challenges and survival strategies in the face of turbulence in the agricultural market.
What really matters: key topics at AgroShum
At the AgroShum conference, we discussed what is critical for every farm today: how to grow sunflowers and maize when the climate is becoming increasingly harsh and the market unpredictable. Droughts, which are becoming the norm for southern regions, require farmers to completely overhaul their approaches to cultivation technology.
Our solutions: genetics against broomrape and smart nutrition
We didn’t come to the event empty-handed. Our specialists shared practical experience that is already proving effective in Ukrainian fields:
Broomrape resistance: We presented a range of sunflower hybrids with genetic resistance to 7+ broomrape races. This solution enables farmers to achieve stable yields even on heavily infested land. We discussed the advantages of broomrape-resistant hybrids: Avalon, Stark 7+ Sumo, Sumo 007 and Thor 7+ Sumo.
Adaptive nutrition: A nutrition system designed specifically for critical conditions was presented. It helps the crop ‘extract’ its maximum potential even under severe water stress, ensuring the development of a robust root system.
Open dialogue with farmers: honest feedback
The most valuable part of the conference was the direct contact with farmers. We sincerely thank the farmers for their tough questions and honest feedback. It is precisely these discussions that allow us to improve our products, adapting them to the real needs of farms. Every success story or concern we hear fuels our new developments.
We thank the organisers of AgroShum for providing a powerful platform for sharing experiences. Despite any informational or economic ‘noise’, we continue to work side by side with Ukrainian farmers. Together, we are making the domestic agricultural sector stronger and more resilient to any forecasts.
