On August 5, a Field Day was held in Poltava Oblast at farmer Mykola Shamrytskyi’s farm. One of the key locations of the event was a demonstration plot, where participants had the opportunity to see the Stark 7+ Sumo sunflower hybrid from Eurosem under field conditions.
Field days offer an opportunity not just to discuss the characteristics of hybrids, but to see them directly in the fields, assess the condition of the plants, and evaluate how the crop develops under specific soil and climate conditions. It is precisely these demonstration plots that allow farmers to compare hybrids and draw conclusions based on their own observations.
Stark 7+ Sumo from Evrosem is a sunflower hybrid adapted for cultivation using the Sumo technology. It combines high yield potential with resistance to the main challenges that arise during sunflower cultivation. The hybrid exhibits high tolerance to 7+ races of broomrape and adapts well to various growing conditions. Over the years of cultivation, the hybrid has demonstrated high oil content in commercial crops.
Particular interest in the demonstration plot stemmed from the opportunity to assess how Stark 7+ Sumo performs specifically under the conditions of the Poltava region. For farmers, it is important to see not only the numbers in the hybrid’s description but also the actual condition of the crops throughout the season.
The field day served as a platform for farmers to exchange practical experience, discuss cultivation techniques, and evaluate the prospects of sunflower hybrids. Such events help farmers make informed decisions about seed selection based on the results of demonstration plots in a specific region.
Eurosem continues to hold demonstrations of its hybrids in various regions of Ukraine so that farmers can personally assess their potential and cultivation characteristics under real field conditions.
We thank farmer Mykola Shamrytskyi for the opportunity to see Stark 7+ Sumo Evrosem at the demonstration plot, and all Field Day participants for their interest in modern sunflower cultivation technologies!
